Someone mentioned that I should drown my books at the end of it all. 12 assignments and projects and final exams of various subjects within a period of 21 days, including a stretch of 48 hours with 2 final exams and 2 final projects. That's about as harsh as it comes.

I can no longer remember how I managed to do it all. It was like a dream. I don't think I watched the Canucks play, nor did I go to the gym. I even gave up Friday night's youth groups. I studied and studied and studied, taking some time to sleep here and there, and I prayed a lot. Luckily, I had a wonderful partner for the final projects, and it seemed that everything I studied for were on the exams.

Prayers answered? I don't know how I could answer that question any other way. Really, often times, it feels good to be a student.

At the end of it all, I was happy to be with the youth group again as we hosted our annual Christmas party. Three cheers to the innovators who brought a candle-light potluck to the youths.

Laughter surrounded a skit where this kid ate too much chocolate that his mother made and choked to death. The scene was performed over and over again as a comedy, as a tragedy, with 'violence', without violence, as a musical, as a melodrama; sometimes the ambulance cracked 'its' voice on a high note, sometimes the table fought the mother for the phone, sometimes the kid was tickled to life from the dead,  it was pretty hilarious.

And then we played a somewhat 'competitive' game of charades. I don't know who thought up all those weird 1930's movies' titles, but when I got my slip of paper, one girl on the other team was laughing particularly hard. Anyway, there were two words I didn't know in that darn title and I pretty much had to gesture every word syllable by syllable. To top it all off, there seemed to be a grammatical error in the title. So, just when I thought our team got everything right, that girl now with a little grin asked me to read the slip again.

In case you are wondering, our team lost, and nobody minded. Everyone got a candy for their effort, and we had a useless-gift-exchange afterwards. Yes, it's just as it sounds. I wrapped up a still-half-useful coupon book. And what did I get in return?

You know what? I am still not quite sure up to this day.
